Apolipoprotein A-1 (apo A-1) in human plasma is a major protein component of high density lipoprotein (HDL). The molecular mass is 24 kDa. Apo A-1 is a cofactor for enzymes involved in the normal turnover of cholesterol and is produced in the liver. The concentration in plasma is 270-380 mg/100 ml (1).
Apo A-1 isolated from human plasma adsorbed onto aluminum hydroxide gel (2)
HYB 069-01 is specific for apo A-1 from human serum/plasma. No cross-reactivity is seen with human apolipoprotein B.
Not determined
HYB 069-01 reacts with apo A-1 from human serum/plasma when tested in sandwich ELISA in combination with a polyclonal antibody against apo A-1 and also in ELISA with purified apo A-1 or HDL directly coated onto the microtiterwell. In Western blot after SDS-PAGE, HYB 69-01 reacts with apo A-1 in reduced as well as in non-reduced forms.
