Antigen:

Polio (acute poliomyelitis, infantile paralysis) is caused by the poliovirus, which may infect the nervous system and cause lasting paralysis. Poliovirus is a a single-stranded RNA virus and a member of the Picornavirus family. There are three separate types of the virus: Type 1, Type 2 and Type 3.

Specificity:

HYB 295-15 is specific for poliovirus type 1. There is no cross-reactivity with poliovirus type 2 and 3.
