Antigen:

Polio (acute poliomyelitis, infantile paralysis) is caused by a virus, which may infect the nervous system and cause lasting paralysis. Poliovirus is a single-stranded RNA virus and a menber of the Picornavirus family. There are three seperate types of the virus: type 1, type 2, type 3.

Poliovirus type 2 (inactivated)

Specificity:

HYB 294-06 is specific for poliovirus type 2. There is no cross-reactivity with type 1 and 3

Reactivity:

HYB 294-06 reacts well with poliovirus type 2. In ELISA HYB 294-06 can be used both as catching antibody and as detection antibody.
