Conglutinin is a plasma protein belonging to the C-type family of collectins. Conglutinin is closely related to surfactant protein A and D and mannan-binding lectin, but has so far conglutinin only been found in Bovidae. Some and maybe all of the C-type collectins bind microbial carbohydrates and subsequently activate the complement system. The molecular mass of conglutinin is app. 40 kDa (1).
Recombinant neck-CRD domain of conglutinin
HYB 263-02 is specific for the C-terminal part of the conglutinin molecule. No cross-reaction to CL-43 is seen in Western blotting.
HYB 263-02 binds to the CRD (carbohydrate recognition domain) region or the a-helical neck region of conglutinin.
