Antithrombin III (AT III) is a single chain glycoprotein of molecular mass 58 kDa with four glycosylation sites and three intra-molecular disulfide bonds. AT III is normally present in human plasma at a concentration of approx. 12.5 mg/dl. It is the major inhibitor of thrombin. Inactivation of thrombin by AT-III occurs by formation of a covalent bond resulting in an inactive 1:1 stoichiometric complex between the two components.

HYB 228-10 is specific for human AT III, heat denatured
Epitope specificity differs from that of HYB 230-01, HYB 228-08 and HYB 228-12.
HYB 228-10 reacts strongly with denatured AT III. Strong reaction is seen in ELISA with denatured AT III directly coated onto the microtiter well. HYB 228-10 reacts with AT III in both reduced and non-reduced forms in Western blotting after SDS-PAGE.
